Ambulance (free) 02:43
I met her on the motorway she close lit up the sky Sliding like a broken heart that glides upon the ice I pulled my ambulance in close and reached in through the wreck There’s blood on her neck, there’s blood on her neck Panic inside, I can’t swerve my nerves onto the outside She died like a waif She’s the girl I couldn’t save I took her to the hospital and put her into bed Drips and tubes did go into her body and her head I watched her heart beat gentle on the monitor then what? It suddenly stops, it suddenly stops It’s panic inside, I can’t swerve my nerves onto the outside She died like a waif She’s the girl I couldn’t save It’s manic inside, her head has bled over the roadside She died like a waif She’s the girl I couldn’t save It was my last call and every night I recall Every mistake that I did and didn’t make I went to her funeral wrapped up in guilt and black She’s not coming back. She’s not coming back.

In our little house We’d sit by the fire Until the coal did take its toll and we’d perspire We’d watch others lives On little screens And we would try to figure out our doubts in reams But we still slept in one bed Although our love was half dead you Once told me that you knew That there was someone else She came to our home Our shared address Where we did sleep her body heat did warm my chest Picture a whole Jigsaw of clues She put each piece beside a piece until she knew But we still slept in one bed Although our love was half dead you Once told me that you knew That there was someone else Behind the curtain You couldn’t know for certain who’d Already replaced you Swapped you for someone else Else, else, We dressed, we dressed We dressed, we dressed And in a daze, and in a daze we left And in a daze, and in a daze we left Our little house

Sleep Alone 02:35
Sleep alone, cos when you lie with a woman She’ll let you know that while she’s a patient woman Soon things will have to change You’ll have to shield her pain Sleep alone, cos once you’ve been with a woman She’ll let you know that while she’s a dreamy woman She want to settle down She want to steal your crown Hopeless was the thought that somehow I’d avoid All of this, a settled life, a woman who’ll destroy Me, everything, and I’ll be left a blank inside a frame Just to sleep alone again Sleep alone, cos when you lie with a woman She’ll let you know that while she’s a patient woman Soon things will have to change You’ll have to steal her pain

Quietly discovering the secret matters of the heart now Silently under my wing your secret matter hits me hard now, now We were so close, like two eyes upon the same face You closed us both, now blindly love has been misplaced, wait You’re managing to make it worse So just pack your case and go, just leave, I’m loathe to grieve It’s saddening to put love in a hearse But it’s too late to reverse, they’ve closed the street We were so close, like two eyes upon the same face You closed us both, now blindly love has been misplaced Secrets are lies in lovers eyes when they don’t leave the mouth Secrets will hide until the time when they can cause most doubt We were so close, like two eyes upon the same face You closed us both, now blindly love has been misplaced, wait You’ve got to stand and let it fall apart Like secrets from the heart fall, just fall
5.
Dream of her, spinning Leave the girl wishing We fell in love when we were young And we fell back out again Waltz with her, until the early hours Jolts and twirls, in among the flowers We fell in love when we were young And we fell back out again We were young then we grew older And I learnt the steps before I told her All of my regrets I didn’t hold her But we did share a glance When were young we’d waltz together And we thought that this might be forever With a touch as soft as any feather But only for the dance

about

Following the critical success of our previous two EP's, our third musical instalment is a continuation in theme but a departure, some have said, in sound.

Sheffield and beyond have embraced the Duo with beautiful words....

"Fanfuckintastic"
Tom Robinson, BBC6Music (private email)

"Low Duo do despair just as well, and they’ve just released their third EP, The EP Of Truth And Regret. The rules are the same as before – one guitar, one voice, nothing else – but it’s a formula that’s yet to go stale!"
Robert Cooke, Drowned in Sound

"Low Duo’s new EP provides a personal and touchingly intimate listening experience, with a unique minimalist style somewhere between Radiohead and the xx. In an era of monotonous auto-tuned vocals and expansive repetitious synth drenched chart toppers, this thought provoking acoustic record has been a refreshing change."
Hugh Fitz-Gibbon, Oxford Music Blog

"Their most enthralling release to date, now three releases in and with an ever growing reputation as the next big thing in minimalistic folk. Blissfully innocent in sound but with brutally honest lyrics this EP is further affirmation of how far the pair can go in the coming years."
Sean Robinson, Counterfeit

"The simplicity of this EP is enthralling. It is rare that a band can work with just vocals and a guitar, but this band has it nailed to a T. The haunting vocals in first track Ambulance are capable of sending shivers down my spine, and the bass melody in Secret Matters of the Heart is nothing short of genius. Keep an eye out for this EP, it will not disappoint. 8/10"
Exposed Magazine

"With a body of work exceeding the limitations of an album both in quality and length, one shouldn’t await such a recognised format with too much eagerness. With many uttering the name Low Duo alongside a stream of superlatives, the pairing would perhaps be forgiven for buckling under pressure, but there’s no sign of that here. Adam’s dexterity with a singular guitar astounds and their minimal approach knows no limitations. The second instrument, Leigh’s voice, is more haunting and compelling than ever before. Perfection is rarely available, let alone in a sub-three minute pop track, Low Duo we thank you. If you are yet to listen to the work of the Greenwood’s, one would strongly suggest Truth and Regret, it provides an uncompromised insight in to a superlative musical format, a base from which additions merely detract."
Jack Mitchell, Northern Noise

"The Greenwood Brothers––Adam and Leigh––offer up a third EP of spare post- psychedelic darkness that asks us to imagine Syd Barrett having sprung from the head of Zeus in a world that had already known My Bloody Valentine. Deeply nourishing sonic film"
Jedd Beaudoin, PopMatters

"The EP of Truth and Regret is a stunning, thoughtful crafted piece of art. Low Duo won't be Sheffield's secret for much longer."
Music Without ID

"A phenomenal force, a sound so pure and melodies to fall. Simply beautiful"
K-Fuel, France

"Low Duo are Sheffield’s best modern day troubadours. This melancholic minimalist folk-pop two piece should garner more honours in no time."
The 405 Gig Guide

"Putting to bed any questions surrounding the ambiguity of their minimalist concept as people familiarise themselves with their music ...an album of beautiful songs".
Ebony Nembhard, Now Then magazine

"The EP of Truth & Regret sees the pair unveiling their more intimate side with tunes fuelled by love lost and the associated grief, yet sonically packaged in a way that doesn’t wallow".
The Star (Sheffield newspaper)

"Hell Sheffield - we're harbouring something very special here indeed"
Toast Magazine

"This is Low Duo's third EP, and it is a format that currently suits them well...the songs are strong enough to stand up in today's quick-fix culture"
The Digital Fix

"Anyway, the main event: Low Duo. I would proceed to tell you how sumptuously their songs are and how incredibly talented a guitar player Adam Greenwood is, but this blog post is long enough as it is!"
Abbiedays, Blog

"The poetic lyrics, though based on common subjects of love and relationships, are enchantingly refreshing, putting Low Duo a cut above the rest".
Felicity Crook, Sheffield Scenester

"The EP of Truth and Regret continues the dread-filled atmosphere from the previous EPs, but there’s a couple of new tricks being shuffled around this time around. Guitarist Adam Greenwood works wonders. He really has the hard task of creating a whole spectrum of sounds with a guitar and a combination of arpeggios and chords and it works wonders".
Sam, Sloucher
